Carlos does Vegas

(view from one of the rooms)

In honor of 'The Hangover' we affectionately nick-named Stinker "Carlos" for the weekend. Not your typical vegas trip, we started it off by getting into town Friday afternoon and picking up Olive Garden to bring to Speedy's grandmother's house. Then we checked into the Aria and met up with my parents. So went to Vegas to see grandma...check. See the parents...check. Hang out with the family CPA (and the reason we got to go since she gets rooms comped for being a regular gambler). As I said, not your typical Vegas trip :)

The guys placed bets on baseball and hockey while my mom and I shopped and took in a Cirque de Solei show "O". O was AWESOME! We filled one of our hotel bathroom sinks with ice to house the beer keg and coke for the jack daniels and we were good to go :)

Everyone was amazed at how much Carlos ate this weekend. Blueberries, bananas, eggs, avocados, sweet potatoes, mashed potatoes, apple juice, oatmeal, jars of baby food, he was either eating or sleeping it seemed. Carlos swam in a pool for the first time too! He loved it, he was splashing and laughing and kicking like crazy.

It was a quick Fri-Sun trip but really fun to get away.

My First Mother's Day

I had a fantastic Mother's Day. Stinker woke up at 5am (whoof it started early!) so I fed him and then we snuggled in bed and slept for another hour or so, then Speedy came in and got him so I could snooze a little longer :)

Both boys came back in around 7 and Speedy was bearing gifts...a white chocolate mocha from Starbucks, breakfast, and Stinker dressed in a new onsie that said "I LOVE MOM" on it. When I got out to the kitchen there was a vase of purple tulips, mums, and an assortment of other flowers.

So simple. So sweet. So perfect. :)

Baby's First Easter

(after church)

For Easter we drove to Grammy and Poppa's. After receiving one more ticket along the way, we arrived for the long weekend. Grammy got puffs to help the Easter Bunny fill Stinker's eggs - Stinker never had a puff before and let's just say they were a crowd pleaser! In fact, cutting him off puffs cemented Stinker's first sign "more"!

(excited about what's in the eggs)

(first Easter basket)

Stinker attempted to chase and be chased by Zoey and Zada. Zada did everything she could to not be by Stinker but Zoey didn't mind him so much. Speedy and Poppa played golf a few of the days while Grammy and I shopped. I got a spring makeover; I got my hightlights redone, made my initial investment in M.A.C products and got some new jeans - so fun to get a spruce!

Grammy and Poppa also took us out to a really nice steakhouse for our anniversary...4 years already! We also played cards and took Stinker to the park to swing on the swings for the first time :) Poppa and Grammy revisited childhood by doing the "butterfly" - I almost lost it! They also did a train down the slide which had a huge sticker on it about age limits...

(first time in a swing)

(love this one!)

(everyone swinging)

(love this one too!)

(there are no words....)

(in front of the child!)

(possibly my favorite picture of them)

It was great to get away and spend some time with family and celebrate our risen Savior.

(taking his first steps)

(already being tormented by poppa)
